The vineyard in October
The vines begin to take on autumnal colours, yellow, gold, fawn, violet and red. This phase corresponds to the plant’s storage: the sap descends into the roots, loaded with nutrients, and in the leaves, the chlorophyll gradually disappears, leaving the other shimmering pigments to appear. This autumn having the appearance of an Indian summer, the vines were still able to photosynthesise for a long time and accumulate reserves which will favour a dynamic start in spring.
